The general role of the PA is to support and empower parents to be active in the best interests of our children’s educational lives. Every parent is automatically a member of the Association and a committee is elected each year to represent them. The Parents’ Association works together with the Principal, the Staff and the Board of Management of An Grianán N.S. to build an effective partnership of home and school.
The Parents’ Association gives a voice to parents when creating / reviewing school policies and practices. Through fundraising we aim to improve school facilities and provide extra curricular activities. The association meets approximately once a term for about an hour and all parents are very welcome to attend at any time.
The Parents’ Association AGM was held on October 5th.
The following parents were elected for 2022 - 2023:
Members:
Charlene Mc Cormack, Claire Smyth, Denise Hughes, Elaine Conlon, Irene O’Neill, Jacintha Belton, Janice Allen, Katie Flanagan, Kelly Dolan, Lisa Doyle, Marguerite Lynch, Maria Fox, Marie Hoey, Michelle Donnelly, Sinead Ledwith, Sinead White, Tina Allen, Rachel Smith.
PA covered the cost of the bus to the Church for the Army band event.
€2 will be collected from each child. This will help cover Santa Visit, Christmas Treat and Sports Day Icecream.
A group of 6th class parents will organise the order of hoodies. We hope to get them much earlier this year and the 6th class group will be allowed to wear them instead of Uniform Jumpers.
Parents of 1st and 5th will organise a celebration in the school after both ceremonies.
€14541.25 funds available to spend from last year’s fundraising. We will update all parents during the year as equipment is purchased / work is undertaken.
We will keep you up to date on our progress via email, on the school website news page and on our Facebook page, 'An Grianan N.S. Parents Association'. Should you wish to contact us, please email angriananpassoc@gmail.com or contact any committee member.
